The Disciple(1915) VHS
William S. Hart rides as the ``Shootin' Iron Parson,'' who has trouble keeping his town, and his wayward wife, out of the clutches of a seductive gambler. Appearing as an extra is Jean Hersholt. 80 min. Silent with music score. 
Hell's Hinges(1916) VHS
One of William S. Hart's finest films, this silent Western, directed and co-written by Hart, casts him as a gunslinger living in a lawless town. His heart is softened when he falls for the sister of the new preacher, but the minister's led astray by a dance hall girl. With Clara Williams. 65 min. Silent with music score. 
The Return Of Draw Egan(1916) VHS
Fascinating silent Western stars William S. Hart as an outlaw on the lam whose skill as a gunman gets him the job of sheriff of Yellow Dog, while he's hiding there under an alias. 64 min. Silent with music score. 
The Toll Gate (1920)/His Bitter Pill [DVD](1916) DVD
Exciting western yarn with William S. Hart as the leader of an outlaw band whose planned train robbery ends in an ambush, thanks to a double-crossing gang member. Escaping, Hart finds shelter and a chance at a new life at a woman's remote cabin, but soon discovers he cannot elude his past. Anna Q. Nilsson, Joseph Singleton also star. Along with the restored, tinted version of the film, this video also includes Mack Sennett's 1916 spoof of Hart, "A Bitter Pill," starring Mack Swain. 73 min. The Silent Man(1917) VHS
Silent sagebrusher stars William S. Hart as a fella who turns bandit after his claim to gold is taken by a sleazy dance hall owner. He robs a stagecoach that's carrying some of the cash that really belongs to him, then tries to save a dancer who's about to marry the dance hall boss. Robert McKim and Bola Vale also star. Silent with music score. 
Blue Blazes Rawden(1918) VHS
After arriving at Timber Cove with his lumberjack pals, ruffian William S. Hart faces the local tavern owner in a gunfight and kills him. Hart's guilt over his actions increase when the barman's elderly mother comes to town, and Hart takes her in. With Jack Hoxie. Silent with music score. 
Wagon Tracks(1919) VHS
Silent cowboy star William S. Hart excels as a desert guide who learns that his brother has been killed by a gal in self-defense. While leading a wagon train, Hart gets the hunch that the woman's brother and his confederate pal are the culprits. Jane Novak, Robert McKim and future director Lloyd Bacon also star. Tumbleweeds(1925) VHS
An early landmark in the Western genre, this William S. Hart drama (the actor's final film) casts him as a cattleman facing the end of the "wide-open" frontier during the Cherokee Strip land rush in Oklahoma. With Barbara Bedford, Lucien Littlefield. This 1939 reissue includes a prologue and color-tinted sequences. 89 min. Silent with music score. 
Show People(1928) VHS
One of the last grand silent films was also one of Hollywood's first attempts to salute its own past. Marion Davies stars as a young actress who gets a job at a Sennett-like comedy film studio and later leaves it (and her lover, a top comic) behind for more ``serious'' roles. Co-stars William Haynes, with cameos by Chaplin, Fairbanks and others. 80 min.
