SIX-GUN SALUTE TO JAY SILVERHEELS

November 12, 2002 – November on the Westerns Channel showcases
Jay “Tonto” Silverheels with a marathon on Saturday, November 30 beginning at
8:00 a.m. featuring feature films and episodes from the classic “The Lone
Ranger” series co-starring Clayton Moore as the benevolent masked man.
Born
on a Canadian reservation to a Mohawk chief, Silverheels was a star lacrosse player
and boxer before entering films as a stuntman. November is National American
Indian Heritage Month and Westerns is pleased to present a “Six-Gun Salute” to
Jay Silverheels.
